Recreational Dance and Tumbling
For ages 5 & up who like to dance for fun and like performing on stage.
Recreational dance and tumbling is offered for children that are new to the dance world, that love to dance for fun or exercise, or just want to keep up on the latest dance moves. We offer tap, jazz, ballet and tumbling for ages 5 and up. Dancers younger than age 5, can participate in our Preschool Program.
Our dance classes are 1/2 hour, once per week. Our tumbling classes are 1 hour, once per week. All classes will learn a dance or tumbling routine to perform in the recital in May.

Preschool Program
Our beginning program for ages 3-5. A great introduction to dance and tumbling skills and performing on stage.
Our preschool program is one of the most exciting parts of our studio. We try to incorporate fun and friendship when learning basic dance and tumbling skills. These classes are taught with a themed calendar in the fall to make the learning process extra fun. This program is intended for ages 3-5.
Classes are once a week for an hour. The first 20 minutes is ballet, the next 20 minutes is tumbling and the last 20 minutes is tap. The children will learn a ballet and a tap routine to perform in the recital in May.

Competition Dance and Tumbling
For ages 5 & up who love being on stage and want to take their dancing and tumbling to the next level.
Competition dance & tumbling is for the child that is a little more serious about the sport. We compete in tap, jazz and tumbling for ages 5 & up. For the tumbling competition team, the child must be able to perform a standing backflip by themself on the mat.
Our competition team dancers have the same length of classes and tuition as recreational dancers. However, there are several extra commitments throughout the year. After tryouts in the spring, all dancers are required to take 6 weeks of summer technique (once a week) and all tumblers take 6 weeks of our summer tumbling program. In early August, all dancers must participate in our Dance Camp week where they train for 2 hours a day, 4 days a week. Then their fall lessons start mid-August. They also may have required extra weekend practices as we get closer to a competition.
Our competition team performs at one regional competition in the spring and one national competition in the summer. We also perform at the Civic Center's March Madness Experience.
Our competition dancers will all perform in our recital in May, as well.
To be a part of the competition team you must audition at tryouts in May/June. Information about 2012-2013 competition tryouts will be announced at a later date.

Recital & Costumes
Recital
Our annual dance recital is in May. We will announce the exact date as soon as we lock it in. The recital is held at Eastlight Theater (East Peoria High School). The recital is for all students except the 1/2 hour tumbling classes. This event is not mandatory, however it is strongly encouraged. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are not planning on doing the recital, so we can fix the dance accordingly for the rest of the class. The correct costumes and shoes are required to perform in the recital.
Costume Information
Please make sure that your child is measured BEFORE Thanksgiving. If you miss being measured in class, please stop by the studio to be measured another time to ensure a costume is ordered. Costume deposits are due by November 7th. If your child is not measured and/or no costume deposit has been received by November 7th, we will not order a costume for your child.
All costume deposits are $50.00 per costume. The balance of the costume is due when the costumes arrive and all lessons are paid in full. Costume deposits are non-refundable.
